Poetry, Short Stories & Plays
A collection of poems and ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ by accomplished authors Frank L. Ying, Juliet Smith, Simon Holder, Ian Stuart, Alexia Young and Saskia Young.
Six different writers from the very young to the not-so-young blend in a symphony of verse and prose on a rollercoaster of a journey of love lost, love regained, grief, regret and despair, and with hope restored.
Included is work by the beautiful poetess and muse Juliet Smith, who mysteriously disappeared circa 1970, leaving a collection of haunting love poems to an unknown stranger.
With a touch of pathos from the cradle onwards, and joyful odes to the family cat who gave us reason to laugh again. All brought to life with artful drawings and intriguing tales of the unexpected that draw you in with a ready smile. All intertwined into a kaleidoscope of mystique and longing with a splash of sardonic humour
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
An interesting collection of poetry and short stories. This is a book to dip into and enjoy for the writing but also for the artworks. Its a personal book with many references to friends and family and as such its intriguing. Highly recommended.
A brilliant and entirely different read from Frank Ying's autobiography ('The Ancestral Quest'). But again covering several generations; on this occasion in terms of contributors with both their writing and drawing. Other close acquaintances/family also contribute. A book for dipping into and out of - but also to become absorbed into a longer read. Enjoy - put it by your bed, on your coffee table or next to your favourite 'reading' chair.
