Our books are sold directly to the book trade by our team of sales and marketing experts to independent, national and online retailers. We act as your retail distributor, taking bookshop orders and fulfilling them on your behalf. You'll be able to check your book's sales in your Author Hub profile, which is regularly updated when we fulfil sales to retailers on your behalf.

Uniquely among self-publishing companies, we operate our own distribution facility, directly supplying bookshops and online retailers every day. We have long-standing trading relationships with wholesalers and retailers and are constantly adding new ones. Our distribution and warehousing services provide a hassle-free solution for book storage and distribution.

For authors seeking to expand into international markets, our international distribution guarantees listing on Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and numerous online retailers worldwide, including those in Australia, South Africa, Brazil, China, India, Europe, the UAE, and many others, as well as availability for European retailers.

If you have a manuscript and aren’t sure what to do next, we’re here to help. Whether over the phone, email or in person, our experienced team of self-publishing experts can answer your questions and explain how self-publishing with Troubador can help you achieve your goals.
Do Troubador only print books on demand?
No, we actually primarily do short-run digital printing, although we offer lithographic printing for larger quantities, as well as print-on-demand for those looking to access the international markets.
What are the benefits of distributing books with Troubador?
Troubador’s distribution services allow for our books to be directly supplied to independent, national and online retailers, as well enabling authors to store bookshop-standard print runs. Alongside this, our dedicated warehousing team ensures that orders are fulfilled efficiently, giving self-published authors access to mainstream-standard distribution.
Who owns the printed stock, and how can I access it?
Ownership of all printed stock remains with the author, however, we will require a certain amount to be stocked in our on-site warehouse to ensure we can fulfil orders. Authors will be able to see their stock levels through the hub, and will be able to request more stock sent to them by contacting us directly.
Do I need to use my own ISBN?
No, we can provide you with an ISBN if you publish with us. An ISBN is a distribution tool, so we advise that the ISBN should be registered by the distributor for a streamlined distribution process.
Can I have a tracking number for my bookshop order?
Standard orders placed through the website are sent by a non-tracked postal service in the UK. Please allow 3-5 working days for your order to arrive. To arrange a tracked delivery, or if you wish to order in bulk, please contact the bookshop team on order@troubador.co.uk prior to placing an order on our website.

Our team of editors will work with you to deliver human-led feedback that produces a polished, engaging manuscript.
