Troubador Publishing announce their tree planting scheme

Environmental concerns are firmly back on the agenda in 2021 and Leicestershire publisher, Troubador are delighted to announce their new sustainability project launching in May which will see them plant a tree for every author whose book they publish in 2021. Partnering with More Trees, the scheme will offset 0.3 tonnes of carbon, support projects overseas providing farmers and villages with skills and employment, and combat deforestation – and Trouabdor have set themselves a target of over 500 trees to plant this year alone.
‘It’s a privilege to help authors publish and print their books, but all businesses have to consider their impact on the wider world, and we’ve wanted to develop a scheme for some time that would help us put back into the environment too, beyond just using environmentally certified papers and packaging,’ observes Operations Director, Jane Rowland. Troubador’s MD Jeremy Thompson comments: ‘We launched the scheme at the end of April by planting a tree for all staff for Easter, and this will now continue as we plant a tree for every author once their book is published – our authors are very positive about the scheme and we hope to extend it to our other publishing imprints next year.’ If you’d like more information, please get in touch!
