Tim Hamer was born in Birmingham. He attended Malvern College, King Edward's School, Birmingham and graduated in Engineering from Durham University. Following a career in Publishing, working for the Thomson Corporation and then as Director of Knowledge for the Institution of Engineering and Technology, he began writing in 2021. He first started creating fantastical stories for his children at bedtime. His life-long fascination with post-Roman Britain and Arthurian mythology inspired him to write his first book, The Book of Tudllan. He now splits his time between the wild headland of the Great Orme in North Wales and Harpenden, Hertfordshire, writing, travelling, carving stone dragons and repairing dry stone walls.
