I started my working career as a teacher, and then I moved into the business world. I have worked in local government. More recently, I have retired and now spend my time writing for children and undertaking voluntary work. I have been inspired to write my books, as I feel passionate about children learning to read at a young age. I have been a Governor at a local primary school and regularly help children with their reading.
Schools:
I have had some great World Book Day visits this week, meeting so many fantastic children and supportive teachers. If you would like me to visit your school please drop me a line at anne.parsons8@btinternet.com.
Festivals:
I had two successful talks at the Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival and the Clevedon LitFest, Celebration of the Book, in Autumn 2024. In 2025 I was on a panel at the Burnham Book Festival in September, and at the recent Dulverton Exmoor Literary Festival, in November, I did some storytelling for one of the Children's Story Corner sessions. My next book festival will be the Bovey Book Fest in March where I shall be storytelling from Archie, Go!, the third book in the series. See details below.
I would be pleased to give a talk about being a children's author at suitable events you may be running. Just contact me on my email address or at Instagram@thearchieseries.
