Troubador Publishing Ltd is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse and book distribution centre in Market Harborough.
This is very much a hands-on position with the ideal candidate being able to:
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations
- Manage goods in and out: Loading and unloading of lorries using a counterbalance forklift truck, managing the safe storage of goods, organising paperwork and scheduling of goods in and out.
- Working safely and making sure the working environment is kept clean and tidy. Ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
- Overseeing Stock control. Organising the space and resolving stock queries. Maintaining the overall appearance and orderliness of the warehouse.
- Working with other departments including front office, production and marketing teams for seamless customer service.
- Communicating with trade and direct customers about orders, queries and deliveries.
- Collaborate with external carriers to manage dispatch operations and manage postage, courier and pallet accounts
- Challenging the way we do things and, where agreed implementing streamlined ways of working where appropriate.
You will report to and maintain close communication with the Operations Director.
Working as a team of 3 people in a wider company of 29 employees, this is a busy role distributing books to retailers (including Amazon), authors and direct-to-customer orders, supervising the warehouse to ensure our distribution centre runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
Key requirements are:
- A counterbalance FLT license
- Excellent organisation skills
- Experience working in a distribution setting with responsibility attached
- Good communication skills. You’ll be liaising with authors, retailers and suppliers, therefore good spoken and written communication is required.
- High level of efficiency
- Proficient in using warehouse management and inventory systems and spreadsheets
- Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to implement Health and Safety policies and safe methods of working
Nice to haves
Some nice to have things are:
- Reach Truck Experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Warehouse supervision experience
- Knowledge of customs processes is beneficial but not essential.

Salary: £25-29k depending on experience
