We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Trade Marketing Assistant to join our growing marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and enjoys collaborating with authors, colleagues, and trade partners to maximise the success of new titles.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in generating trade and retail interest, ensuring our books reach the right audiences and accounts. Working closely with both authors and internal teams, you’ll support the delivery of impactful campaigns and help drive sales performance across multiple channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Title Setup & Metadata Management: Oversee title approvals, manage metadata, and ensure all information is accurate, optimised, and effectively presented across trade partners and online platforms.
- Marketing Copywriting: Create compelling trade marketing copy for a wide range of titles each month, including blurbs, author biographies, key selling points, and keywords.
- Amazon & Online Optimisation: Work closely with our Trade Marketing Controller to optimise Amazon accounts and product listings, ensuring maximum visibility and conversion.
- Content Creation & Distribution: Produce high-quality marketing materials and informational documents and distribute them to retailers, bookshops, and key trade contacts.
- Marketing Materials Production: Manage the design and print of a range of marketing materials, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard and on schedule.
- Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns, supporting the wider team during busy periods to maintain momentum and results.
- Reporting & Insights: Monitor trade activity, track performance, and provide actionable insights to inform sales and marketing strategies.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of the book trade (or a keen interest in developing this knowledge)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with AI tools and digital marketing platforms is an advantage
