Religion & Beliefs
Everyone needs role models and lived examples of people who can teach and inspire us with their thoughts, words and deeds. And whether we know it or not we all have such people in our lives.
Ten Christian Men is about ten men who have had a significant impact on Mike Hulme’s life as a Christian. He introduces these men using ten easily recognisable archetypes – the Father, the Writer, the Mentor, the Leader, the Friend, the ‘Angel’, the Pastor, the Encourager, the Preacher, and the Blogger.
A few of these men are well-known public figures, most of them are not. Some are dead, some still alive. The one thing they have in common is that they have left their mark on Mike’s life as a Christian pilgrim. The brief sketches of these men convey what each of them have taught him, directly or indirectly, and practically, spiritually or emotionally, about Christian living at different stages of his life.
The book prompts readers to reflect on those people who have most influenced them, to give thanks to God for them, and be challenged to think how they can more consciously be examples to others.
