Just finished and sent up my final copy edit and my manuscript has been forwarded on to Troubador's production team to begin the typesetting process and to start work on the text style proof. Looking forward to getting those first 20 pages or so and seeing how the real thing will look!

Decisions, decisions!
First, the text style proof is back. Gives a great feel for the pages as they will be in a print copy of the book. But do I like the font, text size, layout...? I'll mull it over this weekend but I think so - the font is really neat and right for historical fiction.
Second, what sessions to go for at the Troubador Self Publishing Conference in September? I'm tempted to go for topics like using AI in marketing, but I'll probabaly stick to core things that I need to get to grips with like marketing and distribution. Lots to learn...

Things are moving on!
I've approved the style proof of Thegn of Berewic - I added in the little book symbol I've taken an option on. It looks neat, and keeps the book as a running theme between every chapter title and date.
I've started writing material for my author website - so far, an 'about the author' page and a potential blog page or material for the 'books' page.
And the roughs of my cover illustrations will come this week... looking forward to that and seeing my ideas on the page!

At the Troubador self publishing conference last weekend. Met my 'team' and some very inspiring fellow delegates whose life stories would make great books in themselves.
The conference sessions were very useful and helped focus on the important job of promoting The Book & the Knife. Other than telling anyone I meet (lots of people say 'I really like historical fiction') I have dates for a book launch and a talk to my local history society.
Ended the weekend with a visit to Richard the Third's tomb at Leicester Cathedral. Very moving and something of a personal jorney for me as a R3 supporter.

I've now got my finished front cover illustration and my final set of proofs. It'll be great when the front cover is finalised as it will appear on this website and on the AI sheet, and my own paulcobb1066 website can get going!

My front cover is finalised and now up on the Troubador website, along with full details for 'The Book and the Knife - Thegn of Berewic' and the publication date of 28th November! And it should go to print next week...

My copies of the book arrived last week - it looks great and it's so good to see it as the final product. All ready for my book launch this Friday - come along if you're in the area!
The launch is on Friday 22nd November at 6.30 pm at the Small Village Hall, Wye, Kent TN25 5EA. There’ll be a glass of wine, an introduction from me to my writing then my guest speaker Dr Andrew Richardson from Isle Heritage will talk about ‘Anglo-Saxon England – Still Relevant Today?’ Followed by Q&A and a book signing session.
