Marg was born in Leicester during the Second World War, and before settling in Yorkshire to raise her family, she lived and worked in France, Sierra Leone and Zambia in the late 60s and early 70s. She has explored mainland Scotland and the Scottish Isles as a solo traveller for two decades, publishing articles, poetry and memoir in magazines such as Scotland Magazine, Scottish Islands Explorer and the web-based Island Review.
Her musical and teaching background enables her to compose songs based on folk legends of the isles which she shares with island schools. Marg is a strident walker, a very keen listener of birdsong, an appreciative flower-spotter, and an annoying but devoted grandmother. This is her first book.
