Marek Bekerman

Marek’s writing is influenced by his Central European background and a decades-long career in international news journalism - mostly for BBC World Service in London. He has travelled extensively in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus on assignments for the BBC and international organisations before becoming a lecturer. The issues of belonging and identity are central to his writing which draws heavily on his multicultural experience. Marek writes children’s and adult fiction, film scripts and theatre plays. He currently lives in the north of England.
