L. H. Davies is an author, poet and maker with qualifications in the arts as well as other fields of interest at graduate and postgraduate levels. She has also written and drawn for pleasure over many years. The Children of the Isle: Bloodlines is her first major project in fiction, but she aspires to write more. Over the years she has worked in various roles, regularly participating in the arts in one form or another, which has also included the creation of handmade poetry books, exhibition of work, and sales.
L. H. Davies sometimes draws on some challenging experiences from her own life (including in regards to the reality and impact of her own neurodiversity - late diagnosis journey) and weaves that energy into her work, knowing full well what it takes to rise above major difficulties. Her work mirrors many intense interests including the esoteric, natural, spiritual, historical and mythical.
Originally from the South of England, she is a mother, wife, and avid explorer of the human story, regardless of time and background.

I have self-published my YA/new adult, romance fantasy fiction, The Children of the Isle: Bloodlines, both in paperback and e-book, with international distribution also catered for via POD. I originally wrote the first draft back in 2012, it was almost like a download, full outline of a story, but it's taken me years (on and off) to polish and refine it, to the point that I am now happy and finally realise that I have to stop editing now. I have had this published before as an e-book but removed this from market places as I knew I wanted to edit further and give it a bit of a facelift/rebrand. As a result, it's been a long time in the works, one way or another... but If you love character driven, immersive storytelling through the lens of low fantasy, historical, romance and adventure fiction about Druids, Celts, Romans, Witches but also with the contemporary twist... and more, then look no further. Publication date was: 28th January 2026.
I also write poetry and enjoy creating my handmade and handsewn poetry pamphlets or chapbooks; these are always a work in progress (in terms of a broader body of work) as I am always writing more and coming up with ideas for new versions. I also create all the illustrations for my poems. Some of my chapbooks are complete (Big Themes, Little Verses: Volumes 1-4, plus, Haiku Volume 1) and available to buy through my Folksy shop alongside other works such as Haiku Art Prints, Poetry Art Prints and Mixed Media Art Prints.
So many ideas, never enough time... But watch this space as definitely much more to come!
5-Star - Amazon Uk Review 'Enjoyable read for young adults. The themes of Druids and Witches with flashbacks to historical settings was well written, the relationship development and the unravelling of past lives and discovery of powers was interesting and empowering for the target readers.' (Feb. 2026)
5-Star - Google Play Review 'Liked how the relationships unfolded and developed, paced well as it also kept my interest in several ways... historical, magical and teenage themes combined, and explored with emotional depth, some nice storytelling and language too. Loved Characters' trips back to the past and the experiences. I would say perfect for target reader age of YA and also New Adult.' (Feb. 2026)
4-Star - Rarewaves Review 'Enjoyed reading this, even though it's not my usual genre. Interesting concept and young adults would resonate with themes and development of character and relationships.' (Feb. 2026)
