A professional, prolific ghost writer with over forty books for others, memoir and children's. My own memoir, The Sibling, about my experience of growing up alongside a brother with autism and learning difficulties, set in the 70s and 80s, is published this November. Life writing became my bag after winning the Wasafiri Life Writing Prize that led to an Arts Council bursary with The Literary Consultancy to develop the novel, Girl in the Mirror. I have always written stories, long and short, for adults and children. One is published in the Mumsnet Book of Bedtime Stories, by Walker books, I'm also published by Mslexia, and The Bish and on Amazon. I run memoir writing workshops for local groups and have performed my short stories with the Word Factory in London, and at local spoken word events I have organised. I have an MA in Children's Literature and Creative Writing from Birkbeck, where Michael Rosen was my tutor. I was the Writer in Residence at Talliston House, and am part of the Essex Book Festival. I've written three other novels, two YA and one MG, and have written screenplays. I used to be a teacher, in primary and forest school, and when I'm not writing, I have adventures with the women's outdoor pursuit group - She Who Dares. I wrote a book about them too!
