Jane Pearn was born in 1953 in London. In her twenties, she moved to the Isle of Man, where she home-educated her four children, helped run a plant nursery, set up a charity to support landmine clearance in Cambodia, and worked as a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist. In 2004 she moved to Selkirk in the Scottish Borders, where she still lives, with a cat called Florence.
