Gerda Bean

Gerda Bean, born in 1938 in Baden-Baden, Germany, worked for Boston University and German Television in Washington, D.C. Since 1978 she has translated about 130 novels from English to German, primarily children's and youth books. As translator she has been nominated three times for the German Youth Literature Prize. She lives with her husband David in Lincolnshire, England.
