I write nonfiction based on my friendships and experiences as a Public Health Epidemiologist living and working in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and the USA. My motivation for writing centers on countering destructive xenophobia spread through media disinformation and narcissistic demagogues. By introducing you to people and places you never see nor read about, I aim at reinforcing awareness about critical political, human rights and environmental issues which are threatening our survival. I also want to document a not so distant yet already forgotten era, our time before the internet and 24/7 news. My favourite authors include Mark Twain, Rachel Carson, Vine Deloria Jr. and Jonathan Raban.
