My whole career has been in Early Years and Education, working directly with children and also supporting and training early years professionals to offer high quality provision, the focus of which is the well-being of children. During my career I have achieved qualifications in Nursery Nursing, a degree in Education and an MA in Early Childhood Studies. I now have three grown up children and five young grandchildren. I was motivated to write a book following some events in the lives of my grandchildren, such as a visit to hospital and the death of a pet. I looked for books to support them with these difficult situations and whilst there were some books available, I felt inspired to develop a series of books to help other parents and carers. Gracie's Forest Adventure is intended to be the first of a series of books dealing with a variety of situations which children may experience.
