There is never a quiet day for Griselda the Green Gazelle. First, she and her friends have to track down the people who turned her green. That requires help from Eldred the eagle and Ethelred the Elephant, all the animals hate the polluters of the veldt. Griselda introduces her friends, amongst them Hieronymus the Hippopotamus, Century, a Meercat, Clytemnestra the vegetarian cheetah and Charlie the Choc Croc. She is stalked by Methuselah the lion and nearly caught by Disgustive the hyena and his gang. Victor the vulture rescues her after a trek to the hills goes wrong. Then Griselda and her best friend Luca, a very small lesser bush baby, have trouble in the forest.
The animals deal with human visitors to the reserve in various ways. It depends how well the humans behave. Littering is very bad, but the park wardens are respected for good work.
And then there is the annual animal parliament to be organised. Rule one - no one is to eat anyone else during the proceedings. Finally, Christmas is coming, and Griselda is put in charge of arrangements.
