Help Me Find the Light

Eleven-year-old Charlie Fraser feels invisible at school, except to the spirits who won’t leave her alone. They whisper and wander, always seeming to find her when she’s scared or trying her hardest to fit in. Charlie never asked for this strange ability, and she certainly never wanted it. Not when her classmates already think she’s odd and her family is barely holding together.

Since her big brother Stephen died, the house has felt too quiet, filled with the things no one knows how to say. Her mum works all the time. Her dad barely speaks. And Charlie carries a sadness she doesn’t know how to share.
