Fire Wizard

As the gates of Rentonvale Castle explode in fire, the locals fear sorcery. 

They’re wrong. Their adversary is an unscrupulous man from Earth. He crossed into their world using an alien device to plunder their planet using modern explosives. Known as the Fire Wizard, he’s assembled a rag-tag mob of cut-throats and brigands to terrify the locals.

In the chaos, he seizes Anna, the blacksmith’s daughter, and transports her to Earth, leaving her bewildered in an isolated mountain cabin. Her father, in Rentonvale, is compelled to forge swords for the invaders, while his brave young apprentice, Pell, risks execution to spy on the enemy, uncovering ancient secrets buried deep beneath the castle that could turn the tide on the invaders.

Anna’s only hope is Michael, a tongue-tied linguistics student who is better with books than with people. He protects her from the strange new world, completely unaware she is from another planet. Yet an unspoken romance flickers between them. When they discover the Fire Wizard’s secret, they race to his address in Chicago hoping to find the device to transport Anna back home. 

But they are running out of time; the Fire Wizard’s ruthless mercenaries have started killing innocents and others are seeking the device; the enigmatic aliens are watching; they want their technology back.
