Poetry, Short Stories & Plays
Have you ever looked at someone and wondered, what is their story?
And in quiet moments have you ever asked yourself, what is my story?

The King reveals a story told across decades, countries and cultures; it spans quiet country idyll and chaotic streets of unstable regimes and times, examining fate, faith, fear, love and reconciliation.
History may be past, but at times, it gets in the way of the future; yet used correctly, it can inform better decision and outcomes. One thing History cannot do, is change itself.
The King is the feature of this collection of poetry written by Richie Phillips, a collection of experiences, influences, observations and characters, written over a period of ten years in a selection of styles. These too, are stories.
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
Much like a selection box, an easy "pick up, put down book, containing an eclectic collection of absorbing poetry, about a variety of topics in a variety of styles, and displaying a range of moods and feelings. Sometimes gentle, sometimes brutal, sometimes amusing, sometimes sad. The writer shows a wide spectrum of awareness and a strong wordsmith's craft. The main feature is an interesting (if slightly brittle) story, told in verse, detailed enough to draw the reader in but not so long or dry as to grow tedious, as can be the issue with some classic works. Nonetheless an old style narrative with a good modern twist. I'm not a great fan of poetry, but this book gainfully urges engagement, and suggests perhaps that it still has its place.
