Poetry, Short Stories & Plays
So... what is a lipogram? To put it simply, a lipogram is any kind of linguistic composition - from as short as a snappy paragraph, to as long as a Scandinavian saga - in which a basic, intrinsic factor (or what is usually thought of as a 'basic, intrinsic factor') is wilfully, consciously missing.
This small book contains a fascinating cornucopia of rhyming and non-rhyming curios... from haikus, to cinquains, to words on a postcard, to lists of instructions, to scraps from a diary, to various mini-portrayals of quirky protagonists, to philosophical musings on a myriad of random topics;- finally culminating in a slightly grisly short story. And all of it having a basic, solitary factor in common; all of it missing that vital building-block of writing... all missing an 'e'! All missing any 'e', in any words, in any composition, at any point, from start to finish! So, just to clarify; to put this straight; to avoid any doubt; to allay any confusion - no 'e'. At all. Full stop!
