Iron in the Soul

Iron in the Soul brings together the poetry of Nizam Damani and the evocative drawings of sculptor and artist Zahir Babar in a dialogue between words and images, each enriching and deepening the other's meaning.

Through reflections on memory, love, loss, conflict, resilience and hope, these poems explore the complexities of human existence and the enduring strength of the human spirit. They confront life's uncertainties, the pain of suffering and the struggle to find meaning in a world often marked by adversity.

Zahir Babar's expressive drawings go beyond illustration, offering another dimension to the poems and inviting readers to discover meanings that words alone cannot convey.

Both deeply personal and universal, the collection is a philosophical meditation on the human condition—our vulnerabilities, our struggles and our remarkable capacity to endure. Above all, it is a testament to the quiet, unyielding strength that remains within us, even in life's darkest moments—the iron in the soul.
