The Unfamiliars

Imagine a world without wifi, phones, reliable electricity, and – sometimes – gravity!

The Gons don’t have to imagine - that’s how they have to live day after day. Twelve-year-old Luke, his little sister Eli, and their friends Skinner, Yetunde and Sita all live in the Paragon Mansions tower block that gives their group its name.

They also have something else in common - each of them has been visited by a different strange being that seems to want to help them. Back in medieval times, witches had ‘familiars’ to help them – cats and toads and things - but the Gons call their own helpful beings ‘Unfamiliars’. Why? Well, because they are just that – unfamiliar!

Are they ghosts, aliens, imaginary friends come to life, or something else entirely? Whatever they are, the Gons will need them. Because their parents have given up. It’s on Luke and his friends now. The Gons have a world to save.
