Middle Grade
Teddy is an 11-year-old orphan who has the rare gift of Listening, the ability to communicate with animals by touch.
One day, she is unexpectedly shipped off to London by her estranged grandfather, forced to leave behind the French circus she grew up in. Her beloved animal friends have joined her on her journey, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead.
Onboard the ship, the animals overhear what might be in store for them and realise they have to escape. When the ship docks, Teddy is separated from her animals with devastating consequences.
While Teddy faces troubles of her own, the animals must navigate the challenges of London, led by cockney pigeon Terry. He takes them on The Wonderground, a rail network run by moles, and then to The Honey Pit, a cabaret club run by the pug brothers. But are they safe there?
In a race against time, Teddy must find and rescue her animals. But will she make it in time or will she meet her fate in Snapdragon Wood Cemetery?
