Mandel the mage has arrived at Oakham stables, the Mystic Council of Mages’s base, near to Rutland Water.
The mission to spawn more Auriaku Koi has ended in disaster.
A sudden incursion by the Ghost Salamanders caused Magster and Salena Lucia to flee to safety with some Auriaku Koi, but they were met with a devastating surprise - an ancient demon working with Magster’s nemesis, Titus the wolf.
Magster is seriously injured and unconscious and Salena is nursing her back to health with her magic.
Mandel’s fears about a greater and darker threat being behind recent events are now confirmed, as are his suspicions about a spy in The Mystic Council of Mages.
The trail of Titus and the Auriaku Koi leads Magster and Mandel to the city of New Orleans, where they must root out the evil power that is now showing its hand, retrieve the Auriaku Koi, and finally bring all the perpetrators to justice.
Magster’s dangerous new mission brings her into the world of Necromancers, Voodoo, Delta blues music, and culminates in a chaotic encounter that has tragic consequences.
