Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday, too

Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday, too is a collection of essays, opinion-pieces, explorations and meditations on music from around the world, and from throughout the ages.

Each essay uses music as the springboard to explore themes and ideas of freedom, resistance, empowerment, class, race, equality and equity, creativity and the human condition, history, time – and our relationship to it – aging, theology, language, gender, joy, progress, and, most importantly of all, love.

A love letter to not only the power of music itself, but to all the people who make the music which, in turn, has made our world a better one to live in. By examining work from artists old and new - from Bob Dylan, Mavis Staples and Muddy Waters, Fiona Apple and Elvis Presley, Gillian Welch, Kate Bush and Randy Newman to Courtney Barnett, Sabrina Carpenter, Ángela Aguilar and more - Today, Tomorrow and Yesterday, too uses the power of music to delve into what it means to be alive in the world; to explore how we are connected through time with everything that went before, and how what went before can shape what is still yet to come.
