A Surgery Through Time is the story of one General Practice in Andover, from its birth as a single-handed practice in the front room of the doctor’s house, to a purpose-built health centre with ten GPS.
Dr Malcolm Stone tells the stories of the doctors who worked there, and some of the medicine they practiced, some of which would send shivers through a modern GP.
He also explores the history of the buildings the practice operated, from the bankrupt corn merchant who sold the site to the first GP, to the burnt down townhouse that became the site of the new premises.
