Rowan is a Hurrier. As one of the privileged elite and the son of two of the most powerful politicians on Therrhain, he has been fast-tracked onto a Dimensionology team before he is properly qualified.

Rowan’s girlfriend Fay is a Warrior. Her race having been decimated by Hurriers, the natural enemies of Warriors, many frown on their relationship.
