Gifted youths flee persecution when their soulful powers are revealed, and a lost tribe of fey are hunted by battling nations for their potent magical blood.

Narila’s dreams were about to come true.

She’d been shunned by her tribe, but tales of her affinity with animals had drawn magi from rich desert lands, courting her to join their akademia. Before she can bid farewell to Ejida, however, a trio of mysterious creatures wash up on nearby shores, igniting panic amongst her superstitious kin. Only Narila can communicate with the bright-eyed refugees. Taking responsibility, she begins an uncertain journey seeking sanctuary for them.

Meanwhile, in the distant north, Gamel had spent years hiding special talents, for in the Astrian realm, sorcery is reviled as an abomination. Escalating rumours force him to flee the remote village of Westward in fear for his life, having been labelled a ‘witch’.

Unbeknown to either, the world around them is descending into war. The newly discovered magical fey may be the difference between victory, or destruction. Each must face their own insecurities and master their talents to survive. In doing so, they may change the course of history.
