Synopsis
Discover a re-imagining of the Greek gods at the very start of their reign, after the defeat of the Titans. Creation and Destruction transforms Hades-Aidoneus from the terrifying figure of legends to the loneliest and most sympathetic of the gods.
Forgotten by his siblings, Hades is unaware of who he is, though he hankers after something which he senses. Dimly he remembers other beings like himself. It is Zeus who eventually finds him and introduces him to his family. In stark contrast to this quiet god are the bickering Olympians, selfish and always complaining. Only the child Persephone is kind.
When humans are created by Prometheus, a whole new can of worms is opened. The gods swing between enjoyment of these new creatures and horror at their rapid proliferation, which spoils their playground, the beautiful earth.
Occurrences in the natural world raise questions of mortality. Gradually the gods will realise that nothing is forever, even among the immortals.
