Crime and Thrillers
In this sequel to One Hundred Days, Mary Chadwick inherits a farm – complete with body of a local estate agent in the barn. A second murder, that of the son of a neighbouring farmer, sheds little light on the earlier crime.
Aided by the ghostly Mike, Mary sets out to find the killer(s), spurred on by the fact that the locals clearly do not want her around and no-one, not even her friends, will tell her why. Digging deeper, Mary finds a connection between the attitude of the villagers and the disappearance of her childhood friend, Ellen, twenty-three years before.
Meanwhile, Mike has troubles of his own: he has been tasked with mentoring a group of younger ghosts, and just when he thinks he is getting the hang of it, he is given responsibility for Jerome, a teenage thief who has returned to choose his path after the good and bad things he has done in his life balance out exactly. It is up to Mike to save his soul.
