Crime and Thrillers
DI Lily Bankhurst, a single parent with health problems and psychological scarring from a previous serial murder case, is asked to investigate two brutal murders in Aberdeen. The cases quickly run cold, and she comes under increasing pressure from her uncompromising DCI, Amanda Farrell, on secondment from The Met.
A further murder, in a different part of the city and with a different MO, seems entirely unrelated, but Bankhurst feels they might be connected.
Against the wishes of senior colleagues, she begins to peel back the layers of the murders. At times she wishes she hadn’t…
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
An excellent follow up to the first D I Bankhust novel . A real page turner . Highly recommend it . Looking forward to the next one .
A great read. Enjoyed references to Aberdeen. Good characters and plot twists. I would recomnend this book.
DI Pankhurst is back, not surprisingly after her last outing suffering from PTSD! This is a pacey thriller in the true Tartan Noir genre. If you live in Aberdeen there are some places you will not look at the same way. Unexpected twists and turns throughout. All the key characters from book 1 are back, Dexter, Babinski et al. Full of well researched detail both medical and local. Can't recommend highly enough.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being from Aberdeen, I could relate to the places mentioned which made it more enjoyable. I really liked DI Bankhurst and her team. The book was really well written and had me hooked from beginning to end. I hope there is a third in the series coming!
Action packed from start to finish. Held my attention so much so I read it over a weekend.Loved the local references although you don’t need to be a local to enjoy this book. Highly recommended!
