Miranda just wants a normal life, but her fangs keep getting in the way!
Going through a difficult divorce, Edinburgh-based counsellor, Miranda is struggling to keep her practice going. When a mysterious stranger offers ten times her usual fee, she has no choice but to accept. But the stranger is no ordinary client, and the encounter leaves Miranda facing a new reality: she’s a vampire.
Horrified by this bizarre transformation, she grapples with questions like how to carry on practising as a counsellor, how to visit her parents, and what to tell her best friend. Worst of all, how can she feed without hurting innocent people?
Things get even more complicated when Miranda meets Rob and falls in love. Does she tell him she’s a monster, will she lose him if she does, how long can she keep her dreadful secret?
Friends and allies help her survive as she fights to hold on to her humanity. But as she is drawn ever deeper into a dark underworld, she realises there are far worse dangers than vampires lurking in the shadows.
