Steve Eddison is an almost retired primary school teacher (they keep dragging him out of retirement to teach drama and to direct school productions) and a former teacher columnist for the TES (formerly the Times Educational Supplement). When not teaching, Steve endeavours to keep from under his wife's feet. This involves risking depression watching Sheffield United, risking life and limb cycling round the Peak District and risking credibility treading the boards in community theatre. His main pastime is writing stuff. As well as having several plays and pantomimes performed locally, Steve was winner of Teachers' Television Staffroom Monologue competition with his piece entitled Locked Stockroom and Two Smoking Gerbils (performed by Bill Paterson) and winner of the 2004 British Theatre Challenge with his short play You Butterfly, professionally performed at the Jack Theatre in London. Steve has a wife, two daughters, two grandchildren and a dog, all of whom treat him with disdain.
