Sarah M. Birrell was born in Australia and has lived in Scotland for over twenty years. She is a recovering academic, having spent many years at the University of Edinburgh. 

When not spending time with her husband, two children, dog and cat, you can find her cold-water swimming. Sarah drinks (way too much) Irish Breakfast Tea.
