Set in the evocative marshland of a North Norfolk coastal village, The Winkle Picker delivers beguiling beauty, dark secrets, intriguing plot twists and characters with strongly rooted connections to their environment.

Reading has always been a joy but, with careers in both the Civil Service and in Education, writing was often a tool of necessity, rather than of my own creativity! It was unexpectedly stumbling upon the genre of Nordic Noir, which resonated strongly with me, sparking both a passion for Scandinavia and its fiction, and, later, the drive to write my own ‘Norfolk Noir’ novel.

Thus, from the sights, sounds and scents of this incredible area, the seeds of my debut novel, The Winkle Picker, were sown.
