Mortehoe is a village on the North Devon Cosst were the Bristol Channel meet the Atlantic, my family have lived here for the past 250 years, when I was 14 I went round to all the old people in the village and recorded their stories I have used in my books with the local dialect, I have done a one hour recording of the local dialect for the Bedford Center as it is dead in the village. I have written three booklets on the people and the history of Mortehoe which are on sale in the Museum, and the sequel to Morte a Tale of the Wild North Devon Coast,
I have run two Archaeological digs in the village which has been written up and the finds gone in to the Village Museum, in the one of the village farms is three hundred year old bread oven which I wanted to test to see how effective they were, after much disappointment and burnt bread it was mastered, some time later I was asked by Exeter University to write a paper on how use bred oven and what equipment was needed to use it.
