Reem Kadry is an author, born and raised in South Wimbledon. Her passion for creative writing began early and developed further during her studies in Film and Television with English Literature at Brunel University. After graduating, she moved from London to Cairo, where she worked as a news reporter and English teacher during part of President Hosni Mubarak's regime. During her time there, she travelled across Egypt and grew especially fond of Saint Catherine, Alexandria, and Cairo.
In 2014, she returned to the UK to continue her education. She went on to earn a PGCE in English from the UCL Institute of Education in 2016. Since then, she has taught in London schools and mentored new teachers, sharing her experience and passion for learning. Through this book, she aims to offer readers a sense of inspiration.
She now lives in London with her family. The Light in Her is her debut novel.
