OLIVIER SERRAT is an author, speaker, consultant, and researcher in the field of action theory, currently researching "Ethics for Sustainable Development" at Georgetown University. Olivier just authored Mere Words, These: 32 Poems in Free Verse (Troubador Publishing Ltd., 2023) and Flash Fiction: 22 Very Short Stories (Troubador Publishing Ltd., 2022). At the Asian Development Bank, Olivier headed the Knowledge Management Center from 2008–2012 and for two consecutive years—2011 and 2012—earned ADB an Asian Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) award. A staunch advocate of learning, Olivier is the author of Leading Organizations of the Future: A New Framework (Springer, forthcoming), Digital Solutions: Reframing Leadership (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022), Leading Solutions: Essays in Business Psychology (Springer, 2021), Knowledge Solutions: Tools, Methods, and Approaches to Drive Organizational Performance (Springer, 2017), and Learning in Development (ADB, 2010). Olivier also produced Guidelines for Knowledge Partnerships (ADB, 2011) and ADB: Reflections and Beyond (ADB, 2010). Olivier has written numerous other publications and developed multiple initiatives—including flash animations, videos, and training programs—to prime and energize organization, people, knowledge, and technology for learning. His specialties include environmental management, evaluation, information and communications technology, knowledge management, organizational effectiveness, project design, project implementation, public relations, and strategic planning. Olivier obtained an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Kent, a master's degree in agricultural economics from the University of London, and a doctor of philosophy degree in organizational leadership from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
