Michelene Wandor is an award-winning playright, poet, fiction writer, cultural commentator and musician. Her prolific radio drama includes plays about Spinoza, Isabella d'Este and Lucrezia Borgia, and dramatisations of novels by Dostoyevsky, H. G. Wells, Daphne du Maurier, Margaret Drabble, Angus Wilson, Sara Paretsky - many of which are available as audio books and boxed sets. Her most recent poetry collection is ERGO (Arc Publications). She has an MMus in early music performance, and with her group, 'Siena', she recorded the first CD in the UK of the sacred and secular music of Salamone Rossi, 'Salamone Rossi Hebreo Mantovano'. She has taught Creative Writing for over four decades, and written three books about its history and pedagogy. Her first novel, 'Orfeo's Last Act', was shortlisted for the Society of Authors' Paul Torday Prize, 2024.
