I’m Gina Parle - an ex-teacher and total logophile, writing under the pen name Georgia McKinlay. My own love of language grew from listening to the stories my grandma and mum told me when I was a child. I’m told that I began reading very early and that I was often found asleep with a book still in my hand. (That hasn’t changed, actually!)
I’ve lived in four countries and speak three languages fluently, so my love of words isn’t limited to our awkward and amazing English language. I’ve always been interested in helping the next generation discover the joy of words, which led to me teaching languages for a decade, but I’ve always told and written stories.
I’m now settled in Oxfordshire with my two crazy, wonderful kids and my terrifically tolerant husband. You’ll usually find me barefoot, laughing and surrounded by books.
