Andrew J. Mullaney

Born and bred in the Black Country, Andrew is a proud family man with a 35-year career with Lloyds Bank behind him. He says that he was fortunate to undertake management roles within Retail, Commercial, Corporate and Private/International Private Banking, before formally retiring in May 2019. In that respect, 'I think it's someone elses turn now' he reflects.

The greatest privilege he felt that he had during his career came in the latter years where he was seconded to Business In The Community, one of the Prince of Wales charities, as a Business Connector for Dudley. This gave him a belief and a passion for "giving back" and connecting others to improve the lives and well being of as many people as possible. I will always try to help anyone who asks, he says with feeling and passion. This led Andrew to assist with the many projects including social enterprises and his favourite area, developing younger people. He became a founding Board Member/Vice Chair of Directors for the Stour Vale Multi Academy Trust and acted as a Mentor to the CEO from Jan 2017 to Dec 2020. He still mentors several people, volunteers (including as an Author Ambassador for Troubador), and is a mental health first aider.

Didn't Anyone Ever Tell You? It's All A Game! was published in August 2021, which Andrew describes as one of the most amazing moments ever. A bucket list item ticked off. The book takes you through the game of life, comparing it to a game of snakes and ladders, full of quick wins and unavoidable traps. Through a combination of personal anecdotes, interviews and pieces of advice, Andrew shows you how to play the game to your advantage and ultimately become the best version of yourself.
