Biography
Lost and Found in China takes you on a journey to China but to destinations that are very much off the beaten track. They include Tibet and the start of the ancient Silk Road. The journeys described within will give the reader an understanding of Buddhism as well as the architecture, history and philosophy of the country.
The author never envisaged writing a book and it was only after having shown a collection of photos, taken on his recent travels to far flung and relatively untrodden paths of China, that the idea of adding a description of the journey was suggested to him. This book will show you a part of China that many will never know exists. It combines the beauty and diversity of the photographs with the author’s vivid description of the places visited which will make you think you have been packed into the suitcase and were part of the journey described.
All these journeys took place while at the same time navigating the vagaries of Covid, including 42 days of quarantine, and the book also describes the difficulties of travelling during this period. The author was lucky enough to be travelling with a partner born in mainland China and as well as the journey it includes the element of self-learning that came through this traveling companion.
