Born in Surrey, I spent the first five years of my life in Kent, then moved to Sussex in the 70's.
I was brought up in a small village in rural Sussex, and this is where I got my inspiration to write. I went to the local comprehensive school in Rye which was a real eye opener for me: my primary school in Staplecross had a grand total of 30 children! I attended Bexhill College to continue my education, studying English Literature and Medieval History.
I have done a variety of jobs over the years: working at an animal sanctuary in deepest Wales, a Confectioner for Sainsbury's in Maidenhead, Berkshire, then back to Sussex in the 1990's.
I trained and worked as a Teaching Assistant in Hastings and also as a Minibus Escort for students with special needs. Caring for people is something I've always aspired to do.
Unfortunately, due to ill health, I have had to retire early. This has given me the time to finish Ragllan and the Curse of the Black Dog and pursue my passion for gardening. I'm really lucky to live in a beautiful area with a wonderful garden and lots of wildlife to keep me company. All the inspiration I need for my second book!
