Greedy Spider, Look at me!
by Gary Pyper & Debra Hodgson

Greedy Spider, look at me! is a beautifully illustrated modern fairytale that will fire up the imaginations of young readers, proving that greed never triumphs over true love and happ-bee-ness!

This tale begins in the magical wood of Yummy Mead, where amongst the fizz pop plants and the doughnut trees sits a glimmering golden dainty bee. Lonely Amber-Jam is destined to sit guarding her precious treasure for eternity. Until that is, a Greedy Spider spots his chance to steal the tree’s golden leaves...

On the other side of the wood, Willy-Woo the worker bee also dreams of finding friendship in the magical wood, when he hears the distant plea of a far-off bee. Join Amber-Jam and Willy-Woo on their magical journey to see if love and friendship will overcome the greedy gaze of sneaky spider and finally prove that friendship really is the most precious thing in the land!

Greedy Spider, look at me! is vividly illustrated in full-colour and will appeal to 0-5 year olds, containing an important moral message for young readers.

I was one of the lucky winners to win this children's book in a recent Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

One of the best young children's book that I have had the pleasure of reading to my 2 yr old grandson for some time. Lovely story with colourful illustrations. Now looking forward to sharing this book with my 4 yr old granddaughter. Highly recommended.

What a great book! I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway and would recommend it for any little ones who like to be a little bit frightened, the spider illustrations are really funny and the story will keep everyone amused, either as an early reader or snuggled up on a cosy knee. A definite five star childrens book.

This is such a lovely book for the whole family. The wonderful rhyming story is brought to life with magical illustrations and will easily become a family favourite very quickly! The map of 'Yummy Mead' at the back of the book is a really great feature and helps children to use their imagination to create other stories using the characters in the book. I would thoroughly recommend.

I received this book as part of Good Reads First Reads
This book is bright and colourful. The pictures are amazing in every detail for such a childrens book. The story is in the form of a poem and leads you and your child through a wood of fabulous trees with wonderful made up names to the lives of two bees...........of course this has a happy ending but you wouldn't expect anything else. A great bedtime read

I received this book as a giveaway winner!! and I have to say it's such a sweet and really lovely book for all ages. I can't wait to read it to my kids in my year 1 class. The book has rhyming words and is short enough to do lots of work around. The book also brings in themes such as friendship, loneliness, and love that can be used and explored in English and PHSE sessions. A must read for all children. Would love to check out some more books by author Gary Pyper :)

I thought this book was really sweet and simple, great for a quick read and the young ones would love it. The content is great, its about finding a friend that makes you happy and love. Its also a good lesson about how some people are greedy and want stuff that is not theirs and this is wrong. Great lessons to learn while young.

Plus the illustration work is amazing, its not over complicated or too simple and it really creates a magical atmosphere. I thought the map and ideas were great. I thought the characters looked very unique and different from what I have seen before.

Me and my daughters love this book. We love how it flows and rhymes with lots of interesting words for a little reader. The story is lovely with a little bit of tension but happy ending to keep the girls entertained all the way through. The illustration is stunning with a few extras about the characters and the little town the story takes place in. I would highly recommend this book as it's also a perfect birthday pressie !!!
